Menorcan Fiesta Calendar
The traditional horse fiestas in Menorca are by far, the most popular festivals on the island. Ones which neither residents nor visitors should miss.
Each of the festivals corresponds to the specific date of the patron saint that each municipality on the island celebrates during the summer. The horses play a leading role in every fiesta. Their origin is religious and dates back to the beginning of the 14th century.

A fiesta for everyone
The best part about the island’s traditional fiestas is that they are designed to be enjoyed by all ages, from the oldest to the very young.
If you’re visiting Menorca with your family, it’s lovely to take a stroll through one of the fiesta-hosting towns to admire the horses and enjoy the spectacle of them rearing in the town square to the music of the band.
In addition, these popular fiestas also offer events for the little ones, such as the parades of giants and fairground attractions.
